Drinks until 2 for four city establishments
By George P. Hassett
Revelers in Somerville will now have an extra hour to imbibe their spirits. Last night the Licensing Board voted 2 to 1 to grant The Independent, Toast, PJ Ryan’s and Good Time Emporium licenses to serve alcohol until 2:00 a.m.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to increase business not only in our establishments but in all of Union Square. And we realize the responsibility we have to the nieighborhood and the city as the first ones with this 2:00 a.m. license," said Ken Kelly, proprietor of The Independent and Toast.
