‘Slice of the City’ events are early evening, drop-in style meetups at green spaces in each of Somerville’s wards. The mayor, City Council, and city staff will be present to mingle with residents. Join us to celebrate Somerville’s open spaces, engage with the city outside of formal meetings, and, of course, enjoy some pizza.
Among other benefits, ‘Slice of the City’ will build in language access under the guidance of the SomerViva Office of Immigrant Affairs, include seating and locations designed to ensure access and comfort for seniors or persons with mobility needs, and allow residents to address their top questions/concerns/ideas to electeds and staff in a welcoming setting.
Go for the pizza, stay for the conversation. ‘Slice of the City’ is an opportunity to connect and engage with city leaders and staff, as well as your neighbors, all while enjoying Somerville’s parks. The series continues this week in Ward 1 and Ward 6.
Ward 1 includes East Somerville, Assembly Square, and more. Ward 6 includes the greater Davis Square neighborhood and more. Not sure which ward you live in? Use the MySomerville lookup tool to find out.
- Ward 1, Monday, May 11, 5 p.m.: Join Mayor Wilson, Ward 1 Councilor Matt McLaughlin, At-Large Councilors, and city staff at Chuckie Harris Park (17 Cross St. East)
