Last week, The Somerville Times published an article about some proposed zoning amendments that I had filed with the City of Somerville. I received some requests from folks about the proposals and whether I had any photographs that showed my concerns. I figured that it made sense for me to ask The Somerville Times to publish the following two photographs, as they dramatically show the concerns that I have.

Photo #1

Basically, photo #1 shows the four buildings that any developer can build on a lot that is larger than 6,000 square feet because they can get a lot split from the City of Somerville. For lots less than that, they can build two buildings, the one in the front and the one in the back.

Photo #2

Photo #2 shows the ongoing construction on the front three-story condominium and the rear condominium. These photos demonstrate just how large the buildings will become. If you would not like to see Somerville’s residential neighborhoods filled up like this, then you should send comments to publiccomments@somervillema.gov.
