You lie under dark blue sheets
shades drawn, lights low
Your bed is an ocean after dusk
Drowning your thoughts
Swallowing the memories
You’re not the same anymore

I want to help you but
Your waves only drown me too
My help does nothing
My words are put out like fire when faced with yours
It’s not fair at all

We got lost in the dark blue sea
Tangled in miscommunication
Strangled by conflicting thoughts
I always loved the ocean
I thought I could survive
Keep my head above the waves
But I never expected for
you
to drown me
like this.
