The 2019 Summer Camp and Activities Fair will take place on Tuesday, March 5 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the East Somerville Community School gymnasium, 50 Cross Street.

Representatives from more than 40 regional camps and organizations such as the Somerville YMCA, City of Somerville Recreation Department’s Somertime Program, Parts and Crafts, Somerville Community Schools’ Adventure Summer Program, and the Somerville Media Center, along with many others, will be in attendance.

Families will have an opportunity to learn about the many summer options available to their children and to get detailed information from program representatives about summer camps, recreational activities, and learning opportunities for children of all ages. This is a free event open to Somerville residents as well as residents outside of Somerville. Interpreters will be available.

“The Summer Camp and Activities Fair has been an incredible opportunity to connect families with local providers,” says Nomi Davidson, Director of the Somerville Family Learning Collaborative (SFLC). “Families at the event will be able to speak to a diverse array of providers face-to-face and learn about potential summer programming and scholarship opportunities.”

“We do everything we can to ensure there is something for everyone at the fair,” says Jose Mendez, Out of School Time Coordinator for the City of Somerville. “Our goal to ensure we provide as many options as possible so all families will have access to a wide variety of opportunities for Somerville residents.”

This annual event is a great way to plan a stress-free summer in one evening and help children discover new interests that may turn into lifelong passions. The 2019 Somerville Summer Activities Guide of all summer camps and programming will be available at the event. This booklet and regularly updated information can also be found on the Somerville Hub website: www.somervillehub.org.

The Summer Camp and Activities Fair is a collaborative effort between the SFLC of the Somerville Public Schools and SomerPromise.
