On December 3, 2018, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

Julie A. (Barber) Green of Barrington, NH passed away from breast cancer on November 29, 2018 at age 35, surrounded by her loving family and friends at home. Beloved wife of Erik D. Green. Adored sister of Christine P. Barber and her partner Ryan D. Peters of Somerville, MA. Cherished daughter of Patricia R. Barber and William G. Barber of South Kingstown, RI. Loved by her faithful dogs Onyx and Cookie. Julie is also survived by her aunt Elaine and Ken Parker, uncle Brian Rogers, and uncle Michael and Rita Rogers, by her in-laws Linda and Eric Lindwald, and by many cousins and friends.

Julie graduated from the University of New Hampshire and studied Wildlife Biology and Horticulture. Julie was afraid of nothing, an incredible friend, and was very funny. Julie loved living things – particularly plants and animals, and wanted everyone to plant something that you could nurture and see grow. She squeezed so much out of life, especially in the last few years when it became more tenuous.

A Celebration of Life event will be held this spring in the Durham, NH area.

Julie received incredible and compassionate care at the Seacoast Cancer Center at Wentworth Douglas Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie’s memory to the Seacoast Cancer Center. Julie also wanted to help people younger than herself with cancer. Please consider a donation in her memory to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Julie’s passion was planting and growing, and wanted to teach young people these skills. Please consider a donation to Groundwork Somerville, an organization that works with young people and agriculture, in Julie’s memory.
