Obituary: Josephine M. (Alibrandi) DiPersio

Mrs. Josephine M. (Alibrandi) DiPersio, a lifelong resident of Somerville, died on Saturday, November 26th, at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was 82.

Born and raised in Somerville, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helena (DeAngelis) Alibrandi. Josephine worked for many years in Cambridge as a clerk at the Registry of Deeds. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis C. DiPersio.


Josephine was a devoted mother of Eugene DiPersio of Medford, Patricia Pisani and her husband Jeff of Stoneham, Karen Love and Robert DiPersio both of Somerville.

Devoted grandmother of Jamie, Nicole, Eric, Jennifer, Adam, Matthew & Marc.

Dear sister of Tony “Nino”, Charlie and Joe Alibrandi, Mary Jones and the late Jeannett Rizzo. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Josephine’s family is especially grateful to the nursing staff on the second floor of Lawrence Memorial Hospital, Medford for the care and concern shown to their mother and family.

Funeral Procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, 855 Broadway (Powder House Sq.) Somerville on Wednesday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Ann Church at 10AM. Relatives and friends invited to attend.

Calling Hours Tuesday 4pm-8pm.

Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
