LBC Boutique is a one-of-a-kind pawnshop and boutique located in Davis Square of Somerville. You may know the shop from its notorious items such as Red Socks championship rings and the Grammy of Peter Tosh.

The shop, which has been open for six and a half years, is a full-service pawnshop. They offer everything from loans, to buying items, to selling designer items such as gold, silver, and diamonds. General manager Merion Yohannes says that the shop is the best of both worlds. “We had an idea to open a boutique and a pawn shop at the same time,” he said, which led to many different services for its varying customer base.

The shop also receives items from all over the world. “We have a lot of people bringing in stuff and mailing in stuff. Everyone knows we pay the highest,” said Yohannes. This has led to a host of some very unique items. Some of the most notorious are Whitey Bulger collectables, and Peter Tosh’s guitar and Grammy award. They even have a book signed by John Lennon and authentic shoes and a basketball from Shaquille O’Neal.

LBC Boutique is very easily accessible as well. If you need an item appraised, you can just send a text to the shop with a picture of the item you want to pawn. “We make it very easy for them,” said Yohannes.

A new LBC Boutique shop will also be opening in March of 2017 on Newbury Street. The new shop will boast “A lot of High End Products, Handbags, Watches, Shoes, Diamonds, Jewelry and more,” according to LBC Boutique’s website.

You can find LBC Boutique on 233 Elm Street, Somerville or visit their website: www.bostonpawnbroker.com.
