That annual celebration of accordions, button boxes and other free reed instruments known as Squeezebox Slam took place last Sunday in and around Davis Sq. The 5th Somerville Squeezebox Slam was presented by Nave Gallery and the Somerville Arts Council.

Accordionists of all skill levels and musical genres strolled around sharing their melodious sounds, and like pied pipers from an alternative fairy tale, beckoned all to come and follow them as they headed to Davis Square for a concert of some of New England’s finest squeezebox players.

Accordion themed art/crafts were also offered for sale, curated by Michael McLaughlin.

The event culminated in Seven Hills Park in Davis Square where the party continued through the afternoon.
