Women’s History Month Celebration

The Somerville Health & Human Services Department and the Office of Somerville Commissions will present the Somerville Commission for Women’s (SCW) annual review, and celebration Women’s History Month, on Tuesday, March 29, at the VNA at 259 Lowell St, beginning at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome, and refreshments will be provided.

Women’s History Month is celebrated in March, dating to the first International Women’s Day on March 26, 1911. In 1981, Congress passed a resolution making Women’s History Week a national holiday, and legally expanded the observance to an entire month in 1987. This year is also the 100th anniversary Woman’s Suffrage March in Washington, D.C.
