It’s been a great season for the Boys Indoor Track Team. Undefeated (5-0) during the regular season, the 2016 Indoor GBL Champions also won the Greater Boston League Meet with SHS champions crowned 10 of 13 events.

On Wednesday night, February 10, the boys had a successful night scoring medals in 6 separate events, while placing 7th as a Team (26 points) in the field of the 40 high schools from across the state qualified to compete.

Senior (Quad-Captain) Ben Pierre started things off with a strong push for an individual championship, placing 3rd in the Final of the 55m dash (6.61) just .01 of a second from the top spot (the winner had to be determined by the photo at the finish line).

Sophomore Phillips Magre followed that up with a 3rd place medal finish in the 600m race (1:24.11) and later in the meet placed 3rd in the High Jump (6’2″) with both efforts being personal best performances.

Senior (Quad-Captain) Travis Dolcine, coming back from recent injury, worked hard for a 7th place medal (2 points) in the 1000 meter race (2.39.45), while Junior -CJ Felix made it to the Finals of the Long Jump with the #3 jump, before winning a 5th place medal (4 points).

The Mile Relay Team of Imler Ozit (55 seconds), Marcus Thomas (54), Travis Dolcine (53.8) & Phillips Magre (51.7/3:36) won 7th place medals in the last event of the day.

Also qualifying and performing well at the D2 State Championship Meet were: the 10th place, 800 meter relay squad of Andre James (24.6), Demar Chapman (24.4), Elijah Jeffreys (23.4/personal best!) & Malcom Ducasse (23.9/ 1:36.32); Carlo Gerton (11th place/ Shot Put-42’1″); CJ Felix (8.42) & Senior (Quad Captain)- Demar Chapman (8.51) in the 55mHH; Malcolm Ducasse (38.58/ 300 meters); Kalin Toussaint (2:15.7), Jeff Zou (2:23), Henry Sprick (2:16.7/personal best!) & Josh Gauyo (2:14/ 9:08) in the 2-Mile Relay.

Ben Pierre (55m dash), Phillips Magre (600m & High Jump) & CJ Felix (Long Jump) have all qualified to compete in the MIAA All-State championship meet next Saturday (2/20).
