The competitive Hometown awards are given annually by the ACM, the national trade organization of public access stations across the country. The contest recognizes excellence in station operations ands programming produced by members and staff. To win the award, SCATV submitted a compilation video of clips from over twenty outstanding programs produced at SCATV in 2014. The award plaques will be given out at the ACM’s national conference in Pasadena, CA in August.

The Hometown Award for Overall Excellence is not new to SCATV. The station has won the award nine times since 2005. The recognition reflects Somerville’s diversity of residents and the rich variety of TV programs they create for their communities. SCATV programs can be seen on Channel 3 on the RCN and Comcast cable networks in Somerville, as well as the live stream from www.SCATVsomerville.org.
