The exterior and interior of the apartment was damaged, according to police and fire department reports. The crash resulted in the rupture of a water pipe and a substantial amount of water flowed into the apartment and basement. The exterior wall was pushed approximately two feet into the apartment.

The apartment was occupied by an elderly woman who was watching TV at the time of the crash.

The resident was reportedly treated for shortness of breath by EMTs and the taxi driver was transported by ambulance to Somerville Hospital for treatment.
