Goodwill Hunting

I’ve learned from Davis  Square

that it’s worth combing the green aisle

of the Goodwill Store

to find a priceless linen suit that

just needs ironing.

I have personally searched the books

for collectible poetry,

where I actually came upon a retailer

stocking up for his book store!

Or you could go hunting for

blue jeans, blue wool pea coats,

a blue flower vase, maybe even

a record with a blue cover that reads

“Meet the Beatles”.

Certainly I’ve seen university students—

from nearby Tufts?—buy by the pile,

same as savvy family shoppers

who have the dignity to do what it takes

to participate in Goodwill hunting…
