In the 5th inning Pope John lead off with a triple by Olivia McNelis and a double by Victoria Bercume. Pope John followed up with a walk, a costly dropped third strike and single, allowing them to inch their way closer to the lead making it 15-7 and holding the Lady Anchors to only one additional run.

Pope John again held St. Clements in the 6th inning and then erupted in the top of the 7th after stunning 1-6-3 St Clement double play to gather 4 runs and even the score to 15-15. With the game tied, Christina Puccio (Medford) lead off with a double and moved to third on a pass ball.
