A complaint of an unwanted person at a Meacham Rd. residence last week brought police officers to the scene to investigate the situation. Police were also advised by the reporting party that an assault might have occurred.

Officers were led to a second floor bedroom where the unwanted person was located. The bedroom door was closed, but officers reportedly observed bloodstains on it.

Officers also observed in a nearby bathroom a man laying face down on the floor, which was reportedly covered in blood. The man appeared to be unconscious. An ambulance was called to the scene to care for the man.

The officers returned to the bedroom door and tried to get a response from whoever was inside the room. A voice inside the room was heard yelling back in response to the officers’ inquiries. Eventually the room’s occupant opened the door and allowed the officers to enter, police said.

The officers reportedly found the room to be in a state of disarray, as if there had been a struggle in it. Bloodstains were evident in several places and the male occupant appeared to have an abrasion on the side of his forehead, according to reports. Officers further reported that the man appeared to be intoxicated. Two tequila bottles were reportedly seen in the man’s room.

When questioned, the man failed to identify himself, repeatedly offering a credit card in response to requests for identification.

As the questioning continued, police report that the man became confrontational and at one point struck one of the officers.

After physically struggling with officers for a prolonged period of time the man was eventually subdued and handcuffed.

Later identified as Soo Ro Myung, 33, the man was taken into custody and charged with assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
