Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Congresswoman Katherine Clark are pleased to announce the donation of 7,500 masks from the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce to first responders in Middlesex County and members of the District Attorney’s COVID Preparation Task Force on October 27.

The donation comes after the need for additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was identified by the Middlesex District Attorney’s COVID Preparation Task Force. The Task Force, launched this summer, was created to bring together first responders, including private and municipal ambulance companies as well as police and fire chiefs, to identify and address the needs of those on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic and to connect participants with appropriate resources and supplies to secure PPE.

“The 7,500 masks donated to our first responders are essential to protecting these brave frontline workers and our community at large,” said Congresswoman Clark. “Since the start of this devastating pandemic, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce has donated hundreds of thousands of masks to communities and organizations across Massachusetts. Their generosity saves lives, and their altruism embodies the central lesson of this global tragedy: we are stronger and safer when we are united, not divided.”
