On Monday of this week, a delivery driver for Mr. B’s Pizza Restaurant in Somerville was hit by a vehicle that crashed into the front of the building.

According to reports, a pickup truck struck the victim, who was waiting for an order outside of the restaurant. Witnesses said that the man saw the vehicle coming and tried to get inside the building, but he was injured in the crash nonetheless.

The driver of the truck reportedly got out of the vehicle and staggered a few blocks away before he collapsed. He was later transported to the hospital by ambulance.

Hope the people that got hurt will be okay. People need to slow down, but I don’t know if there was some other reason for the crash, such as a medical issue.

When I saw this on the news, I had no idea until I saw the street sign that it was at the corner of the street I grew up on and lived there until I was 30. Totally blew my mind. The restaurant on the corner used to be a bar room when I was a kid, and next door to that was a convenience store.

Just goes to show how much the city has changed over the years. I hadn’t recognized the area whatsoever on the news. There used to be a bit of trouble in that area way back when. I hope it’s improved since then.
