Confusion on a Fall Day

A thick layer of leaves at my feet
But the weather attempts to fool me
The heat and sun beat down like a heart
The ocean plays a fool
probably as cold as an icicle.

It makes you wonder,
What is the fall?
A purgatory
for the hell
of winter.

— Eric Goudreau
