A policy dictated by fear and a race to the extreme rather than common sense.

The correct strategy was to keep the rate of spread low enough so hospitals are not overwhelmed, and go about life and work within those boundaries. This is achieved already by ending large gatherings and reasonable but not overburdensome social distancing.

Making a face covering mandatory suggests the thinking among our leaders is that we should try to stamp out every single case of coronavirus. Not only is it impossible, but trying to do so will leave us furloughed or unemployed inside all summer and quite possibly the 6-12 months following that while we glare out the window at any neighbor who dares take out the trash or go for a jog without a mask.

Let’s use common sense. Get on with life while we deal with an acceptable and manageable number of COVID-19 cases.

Common sense? Our political leaders especially the mayor are using the best medical and scientific information and act accordingly. It’s all about saving lives and hoping people listen and understand what it’s all about.
Common sense. And yes it’s all about stamping our covid-19, until our scientists and research gives us a vaccine. So anyone who advocates common sense better get some. As mike Tyson once said everyone has a plan until your punched in the face. Common sense.

The hospitals are not overrun because we have been implementing the measures necessary and following them, like wearing masks and social distancing. Sorry if you are uncomfortable wearing a mask, or inconvenienced by not being able to go out bowling or drinking. We need to stay the course.

It has already been proven that wearing a mask drastically decreases a person’s chance of – both – spreading and catching this virus. The only aspect of this mandate that I think is useless is the threat of a $300 fine. Please just ask the Police Department to politely insist on the wearing of a mask and give the mask-less human a disposable one in the meantime. Thank you.
