A shoplifter detained inside Home Depot threw punches at loss prevention officers who tried to stop him, according to police.

Sandor Vega, 34, allegedly stole 13 items from Home Depot Nov. 4. He grabbed items off the shelves and walked past the cash register without paying, police said.

Loss prevention officers “politely invited” Vega to come back and pay for the items, police said, but he allegedly fought them off and threw punches.

The merchandise he stole was worth $280, police said. He was arrested and charged with assault and battery and larceny over $250.

The items he stole included alarms, batteries, razor blades and a thermostat.
