Connecting people with useful resources is a huge part of what we do at Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES). On behalf of the agency, I want to thank everyone who took the time to connect with us at Elder Fair 2019.

Now in its 20th year, the Elder Fair health and wellness expo drew more than 300 local older adults for a morning of socializing and information about Aging in Place. It was a great celebration of our mission and the people we serve. Our sincere thanks go out to everyone who was a part of that.

In that same spirit, I want to recognize the 62 exhibitors who participated – partnering with us to offer such a wide range of information at Elder Fair – and our 50 sponsors, whose generous support allows us to offer Elder Fair as a free event for the public.

While the complete sponsor list is too long for one letter, I would like to single-out our Grand Sponsors – Anodyne Homemaker Services, Cambridge Trust Company, and Senior Home Health. Special thanks to Harvard University and the Massachusetts of Institute of Technology for joining with SCES to donate lunch for the event.

Our thanks to Holiday Inn Catering Sales Manager Shannon Hogan and her staff, for their excellent assistance leading up to Elder Fair and on the day of the event.

I also want to recognize the many SCES staffers who volunteered to help host the event – they did a great job! Finally, a huge word of thanks to SCES Operations Manager Margarida Mendonca, for a fantastic job organizing Elder Fair, and to Giselle Struthers of SCES Office Services, for providing key logistical support.
