Non-profit organizations in Boston, Grafton, Medford and Somerville are invited to apply for individual grants from the Tufts Neighborhood Service Fund (TNSF) until March 1, 2019. Awards will be made in amounts ranging from $250 to $2,000 and will be announced by the end of March.

Eligible organizations serve one or more of Tufts University’s host communities in some way and have had a Tufts faculty member, staff member, student or member of the alumni actively involved as a volunteer in the past year. In this way, TNSF supports not only local organizations but also the work of the many Tufts affiliated volunteers.

The TNSF is fully funded by donations from Tufts University faculty and staff through the annual Tufts Community Appeal (TCA), an internal fundraising campaign. All gifts to the TNSF go directly to non-profit organizations through grants.

Last year, 36 organizations in Tufts’ host communities received TNSF grants. The funds supported a wide range of programs and projects in each community including robotics supplies for Parts and Crafts in Somerville, classroom technology upgrades for the Columbus School in Medford, irrigation improvements for Community Harvest in Grafton, and travel funding for Boston Self-Help’s power wheelchair soccer team in Boston.
