Dear Editor,

I work at 3L Place, a Teele Square based program for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities. Our Members have been learning about local government and the importance of civic engagement.

I am writing to thank Mayor Curtatone and his staff for rolling out the red carpet for our visit to City Hall last week. The Mayor met privately with 3L Place Members in his office for half an hour and arranged a tour of City Hall for us.

As a Special Educator for more than 20 years, I was deeply touched by Mayor Curtatone’s warmth, engagement and hospitality with each of our Members. He is a very busy man, but while we were with him he was 100% focused on us. He taught us a great deal about Somerville’s history and we learned first-hand why the voters of Somerville keep reelecting him as Mayor!

Sincerely,

Michael Bowman
