Special Friends of SHC

On May 24, 2018, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

These six Friends of the Somerville Homeless Coalition baked cookies and pies and made lemonade for PorchFest and raised $364.95 that they donated to SHC. That’s almost $150 more than they raised last year (and we were amazed then too). Many thanks to (L to R) Millie Gates, Maddy Zucca, Buster Gates, Violet Gates, Avery Zucca, and Juliette Zucca. SHC always says they can’t do their work without the community’s support. You made their day, friends!

  1. Not only are we grateful, more importantly, the families and individuals who come to us for help are grateful for your support! $364.95 can cover 7 nights for one person in our shelter. Or provide 18 bags of groceries from the Project SOUP food pantry. Or help prevent a family from becoming homeless by covering back rent or utilities. With everyone’s help, we are ending homelessness, one household at a time. Thank you!
