Discussion to focus on topics of interest to community members

Tufts University will hold a community meeting on Wednesday, May 30, the second this spring designed to inform community members about programs, resources available to them, provide an overview of recently completed and upcoming projects and solicit feedback on issues of interest to local residents.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. in Breed Memorial Hall, 51 Winthrop St., Medford, and is open to the public. After a brief presentation by university representatives, participants will break into groups on specific topics related to themes on how Tufts interacts with the community. These topics, identified with input from community members, include:

  • Housing
  • Campus Development
  • Neighbor Issues
  • Community Benefits
  • Transportation

The event will be hosted by the Office of Government & Community Relations at Tufts University.

“We are interested in getting neighbors’ feedback on how Tufts can enhance our engagement with the community, and in sharing information about what Tufts is already doing in our host communities” said Barbara Rubel, co-director of government and community relations at Tufts.

A recap of the April 25 meeting, including video of the university’s presentation and the PowerPoint slides, can be found at http://communityrelations.tufts.edu/community-presentations/.

“We are eager to build on the good discussion that we held last month with community members,” said Rocco DiRico, co-director of government and community relations at Tufts. “We are looking forward to a productive and constructive evening.”

Light refreshments will be served, so RSVPs are appreciated.  To RSVP, please fill out the form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdUMzrHLh3pxHWS7f_Xod7Duu9xsrBLrp4BHYD2XwHt7y0NFw/viewform
