A 27-year-old man was stabbed Sunday night at a Central Street home, police said.

Police said the victim knows the suspect who allegedly stabbed him and it was not a random incident.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with serious but not life threatening wounds, police said. The stabbing was reported at about 10 p.m. Sunday.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. The incident is being investigated by Somerville Police detectives and State Police assigned to the district attorney’s office.
