Giorgio Albanese, of southern Italy, who himself is a Rotarian, was welcomed this week at the club’s weekly meeting.

Somerville Rotarian President Brian Rooney is pictured here welcoming Albanese, who exchanged club flags as a gesture of good will.

Albanese gave a short talk about his Rotary Club and the small Southern town in Italy where he is from.

Albanese is here in Boston attending Berkeley School of Music. He is a musician, composer and educator. When he finishes school in two years he will return to his home town and Rotary Club in Ostuni, Italy.

Somerville Rotary meets every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. Drop in if you are interested in joining the club and being part of a worldwide organization that gives to many local charities here in Somerville including Scholarships.
