A group of teenagers on skateboards attacked a man Sept. 27 outside a convenience store at the intersection of McGrath Highway and Medford Street.

The victim told police he was exiting the store and heard one of the teens say, “I think I like those,” police said. When the victim turned to look at the teen he was struck in the face by a broom like object with a metal hook on the end.

Police said the weapon caused severe trauma to the victim’s lower lip and jaw area.

The victim was treated at Boston Medical Center. No arrests have been made.
