Authorities investigating the fatal shooting of a Malden teen in Somerville last week have placed the primary suspect in the case, Jonathan T. Perry, of Somerville, under arrest in Arlington.

The primary suspect in the Tuesday, August 29, shooting death of Tenzin Kunkhyen, 16, of Malden, at a Farragut Ave. residence was taken into custody by police in Arlington on Tuesday afternoon.

Jonathan T. Perry, 17, of Somerville was named by Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan as the primary suspect in the shooting last Thursday. According to reports, Perry was taken into custody without incident after being found hiding out at the Chestnut Manor apartments in Arlington.

Perry’s car was reportedly spotted in North Andover over the weekend. According to reports, police allegedly found guns inside the vehicle.

Perry is being charged with manslaughter, carrying a firearm without a license, and aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Additionally, it was reported that he had an active warrant for his arrest out of Worcester Juvenile Court.

A suspect in last week’s shooting, Jonathan T. Perry, has been taken into custody.

At the time of Perry’s arrest, Arlington police made an additional arrest of an adult male, Keith Harlow, who has been charged with resisting arrest, possession of class A substance, driving with a suspended license, and disorderly conduct.

Somerville police responded to the Farragut Ave. home late in the afternoon of August 29 and found Kunkhyen with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced deceased at Mount Auburn hospital. Following the shooting, Perry allegedly fled the scene,

As Perry is a juvenile, no additional information will be released at this time. He is expected to be arraigned in Cambridge Juvenile Court on Wednesday.
