Sweet Or Savory

Located in the heart of Davis Square, a unique oat café offering bowls of oatmeal with numerous toppings is now open. Oat Shop offers bowls with almond butter, berries, bananas, apples, maple syrup, and a list of other sweet treats. If you’re looking for more of a savory choice, they do not disappoint. A fried egg with bacon and a cheddar sauce or a fried egg with a Sriracha sauce kick, pesto with avocado, sweet potato coconut curry, even a sushi bowl with seaweed. Please go to the above website to see many other options available as add-ons.

I opted to try the oatmeal mixed with cheddar sauce, a soft boiled egg with bacon, scallions, and shredded cheddar cheese. This was a nice combination with the runny yolk over the oats and cheddar with a hint of saltiness from the bacon and the fresh crunch of the scallions. This bowl was very satisfying.

There is seating available for about 9. A majority of people grab and go as it is convenient to the T and bus stops in the area.

Coffee, hot and iced along with espresso, lattes and cappuccinos, hot chocolate, and tea are offered.

So, whether you’re looking for a grab and go breakfast, lunch or an in between snack, give it a try. The combinations are endless.

Gluten free, dairy free and vegan options are also available.
