John Fallon, father of Somerville Police Chief David Fallon passes

John J. Fallon , of Somerville, formerly of North Cambridge. Passed away peacefully on May 16, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of 53 years to Mary E. Fallon (Ames). Loving father of John Kieran Fallon of Yarmouth, Karen C. Fallon-Boskovic of Winchester, David R. Fallon of West Medford, Patrick Fallon of Centerville, and Laura Fallon-Buonopane of Andover. Cherished grandfather of Kiera Rose, Jack, Fallon, Riley, Lucy, Mary, Luka, Avery, and Mae. Dear brother of Kieran, Margaret, Eleanor, and the late Richard, Joe, Jimmy, and Brian. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

John was the longtime owner and proprietor of Supreme Food Shop on Walden Street, Cambridge, where he proudly served the neighborhood for over 20 years. Former Asst. Commissioner of Inspectional Services, City of Cambridge for over 20 years. Former owner of Fallon Properties.

Longstanding member of the Assoc. of Notre Dame, Retired Men’s Club of Arlington, and Cambridge Masonic Lodge – Mt. Olivet.

Visiting Hours from the Keefe Funeral Home, 2175 Mass Ave., North Cambridge on Friday from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held in Saint Catherine’s Church, 185 Summer Street, Somerville on Saturday at 11:30am. Relatives and friends invited. Interment is Private. In lieu of flowers donations in John’s memory may be made to the Jeanne Jugan Residence, Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143.
