Join the Somerville Community Growing Center in celebrating Earth Day on Friday with outdoor films and on Sunday for picnic fun.

Friday April 22, Outdoor Film Screening Plant this Movie and Soil Carbon Cowboys co-sponsored by Somerville Climate Action, SCATV & Fossil Free Somerville

Rain/Cold Weather location will be at SCATV (90 Union Square)

 

This Friday two films will be shown to jumpstart the Earth Day Celebration. Soil Carbon Cowboys is a short documentary by Peter Byck about holistic grazing techniques being adopted by ranchers that helps store carbon in the soil. Plant This Movie is a feature length documentary by Karney Hatch showcasing urban agriculture all around the world.

 

Sunday, April 24, 12:00–4:00 p.m. Earth Day Celebration. Come get your hands dirty and help with a little spring cleaning. Or just come to enjoy the space.

Make Your Own Worm Bin

 

Bring your own storage container or bucket you would like to turn into a worm bin. Volunteers and tools will be on hand to help you construct your worm bins. A big thank you to community partner, Groundwork Somerville for donating some worms.
