At an outdoor fundraiser last week, Medford mayoral candidate Stephanie Muccini Burke was surrounded by many of her local friends and supporters, not to mention a dozen or so Somerville residents.

About 100 or so attended the fundraiser in West Medford. Our own Ward 3 Alderman Bob McWatters himself was present to show his support for the candidate.

It was a nice event, and a great introduction of the candidate was made by Mayor Mike J. McGlynn, who is retiring this year after serving 27 successful years as Medford’s first elected mayor.

The race in Medford is going full swing and candidate Burke has been working very hard for her vote. Her opposition is also a city councilor, Robert Penta. Both candidates seemed to be working hard with many signs in evidence as one drives through Medford.

In his introduction of the candidate, Mayor McGlynn expounded on her qualifications and why Medford needed to elect her as mayor. Burke spoke on some of the ideas she has for Medford and how the city will grow and see many new improvements under her administration.
