A sand sculpting fest to behold

The Ferro family of Somerville took a trip north last weekend to have a look at the 2015 Revere Beach National Sand Sculpting Festival, which took place on Revere Beach.

More than 20 master sculptors created their amazing works of art, competing for prizes and bragging rights for who among would be deemed the best.
Approximately 750,000 visitors joined also came by to view the sculptures over the course of the weekend.
Melineige Beauregard, of Montreal, won first place in the solo competition, as well as thePeople’s Choice award.
Enguerrand David of Belgium took second place in the solo competition, while Guy Olivier/Deveau, of Montreal, claimed third place.
Ilya Filmonstev, of Russia, and David Ducharme, of Canada, were awarded first place honors in the duo competition as well as receiving the Sculptor’s Choice award.
Second place duo competition honors went to Susanne Rusesler and Hanneke Supply, of the Netherlands.

Melineige Beauregard, of Montreal, won first place in the solo competition, as well as the People’s Choice award. The sculpture was called “Open Your Mind and Let Your Spirit Fly Out”.
