July 2 Fireworks: Street closures & traffic restrictions

fireworksThe Fourth of July Independence Day celebration at Trum Field will begin with free entertainment at 6 p.m., concluding with a 30-minute fireworks display at approximately 9:15 p.m.

The following street closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on Thursday evening:

Broadway from Medford St. to Boston Ave.

Cedar St. from Morrison Ave. to Broadway

Franey Rd. and Charles E. Ryan Rd.

MBTA Bus service on Routes 80 and 89 will be rerouted from 5 p.m. to midnight.

For public safety reasons, dogs will not be allowed at the event.

Additionally, due to expected crowds, it is advised that attendees not bring unnecessary bags or backpacks.

All bags and backpacks are subject to search.

A rain date has been scheduled for Thurs., July 9.
