Distrigas of Massachusetts recently honored 19 students from Somerville, Everett and Lexington for their academic success and outstanding work in the field of science.

Connie Chan of Somerville High School took first place as Region IV State Science Fair winner.

Students, along with their families, school administrators, and educators, were recognized at an Awards Dinner held in their honor at the New England Aquarium in Boston. Distrigas has been sponsoring the local scholarship program and science fair competition for more than 30 years.

“Given the importance of science to our natural gas business, we believe it’s important to support students who show drive, creativity, and a commitment in this area,” said Carol Churchill, Manager of Communications for Distrigas. “The students we’re honoring have shown innovation, academic achievement, and an interest in understanding the world around them.”
