The Central Broadway/Winter Hill Streetscape Project is studying existing conditions, issues, and opportunities and preparing a streetscape design that improves the safety and functionality of the corridor for all modes of travel. The project runs along Broadway from and including the Route 28/McGrath Highway intersection to just east of Magoun Square. The goal of the redesign is to enhance, accessibility, safety, appearance, and sense of community while preserving the unique characteristics of this active and dynamic corridor. This project will be part of the Winter Hill neighborhood plan now underway and is part of the Somerville by Design planning model, which directly involves residents in a creative process to develop solutions for their neighborhood, incorporating continuous feedback, refinement, and recommendations.
