The Sherman Cafe in Union Square is where I write poems and eat scones. Although– I miss the classic oatmeal/ cherry scone, I have done perfectly well with the morning glory muffin, and other assorted delicacies– one must move on afterall. Anyway, while sitting at the cafe, a young man came up to me and asked me if I am a poet. I said : “Yes.” And one thing lead to the other, and well… he is published. He sent me his bio:

heaven help us

when the cord is cut
when separated from the breast
upon our first step
when we take on angriness
when we have doubt and disagree
when we drop onto our knees
when we love
and taste of new breasts
when we love what we now detest
when there is no helpfulness
just malaise and apathy
when we use and abuse our body and brain
when we fall again
when in recovery
when we find another
and when we realize we found each other
for whatever is next
and when our time is called
and when their time is called
