Moonwalks and obstacle courses, face-painting, sack races and all manner of amusements brought the children of Somerville together Saturday June 19 for the Annual Family Fun Day at Trum Field.

The event, sponsored by Mayor Joseph Curtatone's Shape-up Somerville initiative, brought delight to parents and children alike as they enjoyed a inflatable slides and and a community barbeque.

The event was highlighted by Curtatone's SomerStreets event, which showcased a completely closed-off Broadway from Magoun Square to the Nave Gallery lasting from noon until five. Families enjoyed rides through the open streets in a Roaming Railroad train, which toured the usually bustling Broadway with complete liberty.
