With the final two candidates left in the process, Chief of Police of Manchester, NH, David Mara and Deputy Chief of Police Somerville David Fallon, the mayor set up a “Site Visit Committee” to help in the selection of the final candidate for chief of the Somerville Police Department.

Mayor Joe Curtatone, along with personnel Director Bill Roche, Superintendent Tony Pierantozi, Teen Empowerment Director Stan Pollack, Chief Labor Counsel Bob Collins, Chief of Staff Dan Hadley and Alderman Jack Connolly make up this final selection committee.

Each candidate was asked to put an agenda together that consists of community leaders, colleagues, business leaders, youth and senior representatives, civic leaders, and others to speak on their behalf by giving specific examples and interactions with the candidate on why they should be the next chief of police here in Somerville.

The site committee met this past Monday for several hours with Deputy Chief Fallon’s selection. On July 31 the committee will travel to Manchester, NH, to hear Chief Mara’s selection.

Some say that David Fallon had some good speakers on his behalf.
