On Thursday, April 18, 2013,  SCATV filmed the Candlelight Vigil that was held at the Somerville City Hall Concourse in honor of the victims of the attack at the Boston Marathon. Mayor Joe Curtatone, Representative Michael Capuano, the Somerville Board of Alderman, Somerville School Committee, Tufts University, and the Somerville Road Runners participated in the moving event.

The Vigil included a healing ceremony, in which attendees spoke to the crowd and offered messages of hope and peace. After some highly moving speeches by community members, songs from the S-Factor, a Tufts University acapella group , and music by bagpiper Eddie O’Callahan, the inspired crowd sang a heartfelt, impromptu rendition of The National Anthem.

The hour long program will be shown on SCATV Channel 3 on:

Thursday, May 2 at 2 p.m.
Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m.
Monday, May 6 at 7:00pm
