Somerville Fire Department responds to house fire on Bonair Street

Somerville firefighters responded to a fire at 62 Bonair Street at 2:33 p.m. on January 10, 2013. The fire was confined to a first floor bedroom, however, smoke damage resulted throughout the home and water damage to the first floor and basement.

Off-duty Firefighter Eric Saulnier and a co-worker, Steve Conway who were working on a roof on Otis Street, spotted the fire and alerted occupants of the second floor to evacuate the burning home.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the Somerville Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit.

American Red Cross volunteers assisted a family of three displaced by a  fire at 62 Bonair St. In Somerville.

Volunteers provided the family, which includes two adults and one child, with emergency temporary shelter- a
hotel stay, funds for food, clothing and seasonal garments, one toy and 3 comfort kits- which include toiletries.
