The Somerville News Person of the Week – September 19

On September 19, 2012, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

The Somerville News Person of the Week, Bob “Rob” McWaters.

Meet Bob “Rob” McWaters, a lifelong resident here in Somerville. He has worked at Cambridge Court for many years full time as well as being a clerk for the Board of Alderman, part time. He grew up here, raised his family here, and is a loyal family member. Rob is very involved locally in politics, both running and assisting in various political campaigns here and around Somerville. No one knows the streets like he does. He’s been at every door at one time or another here in Somerville many times over.

His friends are truly his friends. He knows loyalty and commitment that used to be the norm in the not so distant past. When he’s involved in a political campaign he gets really committed and his friends understand that commitment. His friends like it when he’s working in a campaign for them and political foes worry. They have that respect for him that he has earned over the years, that they are in for the fight of their lives.  In his private life, he loves helping others out, giving advice when asked for it. He’s very sincere. Once his word is given its kept. He’s loyal and has a lot of old school bringing up that is missing in a lot of people today. He’s a good guy to all no matter what. His reputation around the city is without question. With all the campaign’s he’s been involved in over the years, and there are quite a few of them, it’s a wonder that this Rob has never run for public office himself. Whatever comes to him in the future we’re sure he will continue being Rob McWaters.

Now, you’ve seen his picture around the city and on TV at the Board of Alderman meetings. You know his name. Say “Hi” to him and engage him in conversation, you will be glad you did. We’re very pleased to name him The Somerville News Person of the Week.
