Come by Creative Union Gallery this week for your chance to support our artists in our gallery during its final days. All items in the store, including fine art, will be 25% off. Creative Union will be custom screen-printing all week. Drop off your articles of clothing and one of our trained screen printers will print your choice of over 30 hand drawn images, while you wait or drop off. A $10 donation is suggested.

Walnut Street Center and Outside The Lines Studio shared the Creative Union Gallery at 29a Union Square Somerville since 2010 as a way to showcase the wide range of talents people with disabilities have. We have depended on volunteer support to keep this venture alive and we want to thank all the amazing volunteers who have supported this unique gallery over these years.

As the Gallery Manager, Anyahlee Suderman has found a new calling in life. We want to thank Anyahlee for her hard work and commitment to the gallery and more importantly the artists she mentored. Her vision and presence will be greatly missed. The Creative Union will continue to exist as a cooperative using our studio and facility. We still need volunteers to continue to promote our artists, lead workshops, help with off-site and on site events and personally teach, and support the people we serve.

Due to continued budget cuts, Walnut Street Center is faced with cutting back and restructuring our art program. Handmade crafts, merchandise and fine art made by artists with disabilities will continue to be sold at Walnut Street Center at its 35 Charlestown St. facility, as well as on site at Outside The Lines Gallery in Medford. Please continue to support us by checking our respective websites frequently, inquiring about volunteer opportunities at both studios, purchasing unique handcrafted art and promoting our mission to friends and family.

We hope to see many people who have been long time supporters and visitors the week of August 20. Creative Union Gallery will be open every day from 10-6:00 p.m., August 20-26.  Kick off night,  August 20,  Creative Union Gallery Manager Anyahlee Suderman will be showcasing her work at Zuzu in Central Square after 6pm.  Make an afternoon and evening of it!

If you would like to help with the event, play music during our sale week, volunteer teaching in the studio, we always need helping hands and have a diverse range of opportunity to offer volunteers on an on-going basis. Please call 617-776-1448 for more information.
