Alleged car burglars stopped by police

Police responded to reports of a car break-in in progress at 14 Myrtle St. in the early morning hours of last Sunday.

Upon arrival, officers reportedly observed one male sitting inside a parked car and two others crouching near the car. As the two men outside the car were approached by police and advised not to move they attempted to flee by running north on Myrtle St., according to police.

Officers gave chase on foot and one man, George Perez, 23, was soon captured and held for questioning, according to reports. The other man, Tyrone Quintana-Rivera, 28, of Roxbury, reportedly ran into the back yard of a nearby residence, where he was eventually located and taken into custody.

The car that was reportedly broken into had a window smashed in. The victim identified some parts located in the suspects’ car as belonging to him, police said.

The man who was found sitting in the suspects’ vehicle, Luis Lizarvo, 28, of Roxbury, was also taken into custody.

Quintana-Rivera has been charged with nighttime breaking and entering of a vehicle or boat and possession of a burglarious instrument and also booked on warrant charges of assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Perez was placed under arrest and charged with nighttime breaking and entering of a vehicle or boat.

Lizarvo was charged with nighttime breaking and entering of a vehicle or boat and possession of a burglarious instrument.
