Police responded to a silent alarm alert at the PSG Framing shop on Broadway last Sunday.

Officers arrived finding an open door at the shop while the lights in the building were turned off. Upon investigation, a man with a flashlight was found inside, appearing to be opening a toolbox, police said.

Upon questioning, the man reportedly claimed that he worked at the shop, and that he was waiting for the owner, who he named as “Carlos.”

One of the police officers happened to know the owner of the shop, however, and that his name was not Carlos, according to police.

The owner of the shop was called and asked if he knew the intruder, Ailton Ornelas, 47. The owner said that he did not know Ornelas and that no one by the name of Carlos worked for him, police said.

Ornelas was placed under arrest and charged with felony nighttime breaking and entering. He was also booked on warrant charges of operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license and Registry of Motor Vehicles documents forgery or misuse.
