Police were called to the scene of a reported fight last Sunday at a residence on Bailey Road.

A man at the scene told officers that he had gotten into a fight with another man and that he had been struck by the other with a piece of wood taken from the home’s backyard, police said.

The alleged victim explained that the fight was over some beer, and that his assailant left the scene after striking him with the piece of wood, according to reports.

The officers finished taking their report and cleared the area, but were called back a few minutes later on reports that the man in question had returned to the house.

Rodrigo Rodriguez, 26, was found at the scene and was placed under arrest for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. The piece of wood was reportedly found and retained as evidence in the case.
