Obituary: Kenneth D. Manzi

Manzi, Kenneth D. of Methuen, formerly of Somerville passed away at the age of 66 on Sunday, May 8th, 2022

Born and raised in Somerville. He was the son of the late John Sr. and Ada L. (Choate) Manzi. Ken was a man that was that was not afraid to speak what was on his mind. He was a driver for Green Cab of Somerville for over 25 years, and when it came to doing work he was a great “Supervisor.” He was a Master Mason of Somerville Lodge AF & AM. In 2008 he raised to the 32nd degree (Scottish Rite). In 2009 he joined the Aleppo Shrine Clowns as Pee-Wee. Pee-Wee performed at the Shriners Circus and also volunteered to visit the children at the Shriners Hospital. He was also a Navy Vet.

Ken was the beloved husband of Edith “Edie” (Nye) Manzi. The devoted father of Domenic John Manzi and his wife Christina of Charlestown, Robert Dalrymple of NH, Danielle Mendonca of Charlestown, Deanna Mendonca of Tewksbury and Derek Mendonca and his companion Lisa Lucaretti of Methuen. The loving grandfather of Isabel, Abigail, Nevaeh, Richard, Dylan, Amelia, Brody, Brandon, and Elizabeth. The dear brother of Paul Manzi of FL, and the late Constance Moore, John Paul Manzi Jr., Edward D. Manzi, Ronald P. Manzi, and Alan D. Manzi and. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral procession from the George L. Doherty Funeral Home, Tuesday May 17th at 9 AM, followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 518 High St. Medford at 10 AM.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling Hours will be held on Monday, May 16th from 3 to 7 PM.

Services will conclude with burial at Newton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Kenneth’s “Pee-Wee” name to Shriners Hospitals for Children Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr.Tampa, FL 33607
