Pandemic EBT: Instructions to activate card

On June 6, 2020, in Latest News, by The Somerville Times

The P-EBT cards provide cash assistance for groceries to many families with children in Somerville Public Schools. Many families have already received or will receive a 1) letter from the Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) and a 2) P-EBT card in the mail by mid-June.

You do not need to apply for the program. If you are eligible you will receive the letter and card in the mail – keep both the letter and card. Follow the instructions to activate your card, and make sure you keep your card because it will be reloaded with additional P-EBT funds after a few weeks.

Students who are enrolled in or eligible for free/reduced-price school meals, OR that attend a school with universal free school breakfast and lunch (Somerville High School, Healey School, Winter Hill School, East Somerville Community School, and Next Wave/Full Circle) will automatically receive the card.
